The tradition: We celebrate half birthdays together by going to IHOP late at night. Initially we went at midnight but as the years have progressed and our wisdom has grown, we now go around 10 or 10:30..
. that's what happens when you get old. Half birthdays are a very important holiday and should be celebrated by all.Many fun and humorous things have occurred during these late nights... me asking for free coffee and being quite stunned at their lack of free coffee (I still don't know why I thought this would be the case), or the many games of questions where we all write questions and answer them at random. One of the funniest of these questions was perhaps, "if you had to eat one person in this group, who would it be?" While everyone else sat in shock and felt somewhat disturbed at the posing of such a creepy question, I answered very honestly.... sorry Virginia. I still feel bad about that.
These women are some of the most incredible people from my college experience and have really allowed me to be myself and have fun on so many occasions. College would not be the same without these friends. In the picture above is Noel, me, and Cassidy. Noel is getting married in May and we all have the privilege of standing next to her in beautiful green dresses. Cassidy should look familiar to many as she is my childhood best friend. Our friendship has grown so much in college, and even if she is still bitter about my not wanting to be her freshman roommate (haha), she remains one of my best friends and one of those friends who will be there no matter what.
This picture contains Margaret, Errinne, Virginia and Paige. Margaret is seriously one of the smartest people I know. We were chaplains in Kappa together for a year... those were some fun times. She is one of those people who I secretly aspire to be... :). Errinne is also getting married soon, 8/8/08 to be exact. She is marrying a really cool guy who I have talked photography with many times (we have the same camera!). She is crazy and hilarious. She adds life to any dull room. Virginia (3rd from the left) has so much life. She is funny, genuinely cares for people which is so evident, and has some good dance moves. If you ever meet Virginia she will ask all about you and listen very intently. Paige (on the far right) is Paige. Princess Paige. Paige is the stark opposite of me in many ways and yet is such a dear friend. I have had so many great conversations with Paige. I have loved and needed her friendship in college. Roommates sophomore year (along with Noel) where they constantly pranked me. I am excited for her and her future. Greece!?
So this post grew in length.... enormously. This is a glimpse into a few of my dear friendships from college. These women are incredible, bright, beautiful and such a blessing to me. Being in a sorority in college for me was such a great experience because of the people in these photographs. Love to them all.
